With 2009 behind us and a fresh and exciting 2010 coming up, WheelHouse has decided to do a twist on the “Cash for Clunkers” program to encourage more people to get out of their cars and on their bikes. We are excited to introduce our 1st annual “Bikes for Bucks” program.
So, take that beaten up clunker out of your garage or grab your old everyday rider and bring it down to WheelHouse between January 29th-31st and trade it in for deep discounts on some of the best city, commuting, and cargo carrying bikes in around.
- But what will you bike guys do with all those used bikes?
- The bikes being traded in will go to the local community bicycle shop, Bici Centro. We will take all kinds of repairable* bikes but priority will be on bikes of the road and kids variety. Each person is allowed to trade in as many bikes as they want, but only 1 will be awarded credit towards the purchase of a new bike. Here’s how it goes:
The trade-in credit will be worth $50 off any bicycle we sell under $1000 (excludes Skuuts), this is $50 off the last marked price which means you can get a killer deal on already marked down bikes.
The trade credit will be worth $100 on any bicycle we sell over $1000 including specially ordered Surly or Jamis bikes.
The trade will also work with our Xtracycle products and Bakfiets cargo bikes. You can apply a $50 credit towards an Xtracycle Freeradical Conversion kit and receive 10% off the installation fee, you can also special order a complete Big Dummy and receive 10% off its purchase price (a $245 value). The credit will also get you $150 off our entire selection of Bakfiets cargo bikes.
But what if I have a bike to trade-in but don’t want to purchase a new bike right away?
All bicycles accepted for trade-in will be awarded a Bikes for Bucks certificate that will be redeemable on new bikes for the remainder of 2010**. Again, you are welcome to trade-in as many bikes as you would like but only 1 trade-in credit will be given per person and only 1 trade-in credit can be redeemed per purchase. If you have more questions, feel free to contact WheelHouse at 805-845-6547 or e-mail us at info@wheelhousebikes.com.
*Repairable bike: A repairable bike is defined as: A bicycle that needs less than $50 dollars worth of material to make into a rideable and sellable used bike. The decision on whether or not a bike is “repairable” will be made by a representative of WheelHouse, and while we are subjective in nature, we’ll strive to be as objective as possible. Priority will be placed on bikes that are needed by Bici Centro but all will be considered.
**The trade-in credit will be redeemable on any bicycle WheelHouse sells (including special orders) through February 2010. After February through the remainder of 2010, the credit can be redeemed for any sale bicycle.
